About Yoyo Diastasis Recti Treatment
Yoyo originally worked in the beauty industry 18 years ago. During that time, the beauty salon that she worked in provides postpartum massages. When the owner of the beauty salon learned that Yoyo had a massage diploma and is experienced in helping customers with massages and body slimming, she demonstrated abdominal massage and wrapping techniques to her and arranged for her to provide the services to clients. After several years of practice and research, Yoyo developed her own massage techniques and methods. She has a passion for reading, and after entering this field, she has read many books about women's postpartum changes and anatomy, which unknowingly enhanced her massage skills and treatments, allowing her to help clients alleviate various postpartum issues.
Eight years ago, Yoyo developed a treatment for diastasis recti and, after several years, have helped countless postpartum women. No matter how long it has been since their childbirth, she can help them close the separated abdominal muscles and regain their confidence and health. (As for the width of the gap caused by diastasis recti, she is confident in treating it. If the pregnancy caused a tear in the abdominal muscles leading to a deeper gap, she is able to help reduce the width and make the depth less severe, but Yoyo cannot repair the torn muscle tissue. The width can be reduced, and the abdomen will appear smaller. However, if there is only muscle separation without tearing, after treatment, the muscles will generally return to their pre-pregnancy state. Fortunately, most mothers with postpartum diastasis recti do not have muscle tearing.)

What is Diastasis Recti?
Diastasis recti, or also known as rectus abdominis diastasis, is a condition characterized by the separation of the rectus abdominis muscles, which are the muscles that run vertically along the front of the abdomen. This separation can occur due to various factors, such as pregnancy, obesity or significant weight changes. It can lead to a protruding belly and may cause issues with core stability and strength.
This is quite common during and after pregnancy. The hormonal changes and the physical stretching of the abdominal muscles during pregnancy can lead to this condition. Many women experience some degree of separation in their abdominal muscles as their bodies adapt to accommodate the growing fetus.
If this is left untreated, diastasis recti can lead to several long-term effects, including chronic back pain, poor posture, and decreased core strength. It may also cause difficulties in performing everyday activities and may contribute to issues with pelvic floor function. Additionally, emotional and psychological impacts can arise from changes in body image and self-esteem.
How is the treatment done?
The treatment is scheduled 2 to 3 times a week. Yoyo will have to massage the tight muscles to loosen them up and to push them back to their original position. After this is done, your abdomen will be bandage wrapped for 2 hours before you can remove. The bandage wrap is specially handmade by Yoyo.

Before & After (Gap with Width + Depth)
An example of Disatasis Recti with gap and depth are below. As mentioned, Yoyo is only able to close the width of the gap and not the depth due to torn muscle tissue. The belly will look smaller, however, it will still protrude out a little.
